Assume that the characteristic of an algebraically closed field \(k\) is large enough. Let \(G\) be a reductive group having only simply laced simple factors and \( \mathfrak g\) its Lie algebra. Let \(ad\ x\), \(x\in \mathfrak g\), is nilpotent, then always exists a standard \((x,h,y)\)-triple in \( \mathfrak g\) which span is isomorphic to \( \mathfrak{sl}_2\). Since, \(h\) is semisimple its adjoint action is a direct sum of subspaces with eigenvalues \((-n,\ldots,0,\ldots,n)\). The maximal weight \(n\) in this decomposition is called a \textit{height} of \(x\). Now, let \(B\) be a Borel subgroup of \(G\) and \(x\in \mathfrak g\) is nilpotent of height 2. The author proves that the orbit closure \(\overline{B \cdot x}\) in \( \mathfrak g\) is normal and has a rational resolution outside the \(G\)-orbits it contains. Furthermore, \(\overline{B \cdot x}\) is homeomorphic to its normalisation. Also, the closure of \(B \cdot x\) in \(G \cdot x\) is normal and has a rational resolution. \par The authors extend this, using Frobenius splitting techniques, to the closure in the whole Lie algebra if either the group has type \(A\) or the element has rank 2.
