Let \(X\) and \(Y\) be real vector spaces. A functional equation is said to be an \(n\)-dimensional additive functional equation if \(f: X\to Y\) satisfies the functional equation \[ \sum^{n}_{\substack{i=1\\ i\neq j\neq k}}f\biggl(-x_i-x_j-x_k+\sum^{n}_{\substack{l=1\\ l\neq i\neq j\neq k}}x_l\biggr)=\biggl(\frac{n^3-9n^2+20n-12}{6}\biggr)\sum_{i=1}^{n}f(x_i) \] for each \(x_1, \dots, x_n\). The authors determine the general solution and prove the generalized Hyers-Ulam stability of the above \(n\)-dimensional functional equation in a Banach space using direct and fixed point methods.
