    Let \(N \in\mathbb{N}\), \( N>1,\) let \(\Omega\) be a bounded regular domain of \(\mathbb{R}^N\), \(x_1, x_2 \in \Omega\), \(x_1 \neq x_2\), \(\alpha:(N,\infty) \rightarrow (1,\infty)\) such that \(\alpha(p) < p-1\) for all \(p \in (N,\infty)\) and there exists \(\lim_{p \rightarrow \infty} \frac{\alpha(p)}{p}\in (0,1)\), \(\lambda \in\mathbb{R}\), for every \(p \in (N,\infty)\) let \(X_p^*=\{(u,v) \in W_0^{1,p}(\Omega) \times W_0^{1,p}(\Omega): u(x_1)v(x_2) \neq 0 \}\), \[\Lambda(p)= \inf_{(u,v) \in X_p^*}\frac{\int_\Omega |\nabla u|^p\,dx + \int_\Omega|\nabla v|^p\, dx}{p |u(x_1)|^{\alpha(p)}|v(x_2)|^{p-\alpha(p)}}.\] A pair \((u,v) \in X_p^*\) such that \(\int_\Omega |\nabla u|^{p-2} \nabla u \nabla \phi\, dx +\int_\Omega |\nabla v|^{p-2} \nabla v \nabla\psi\, dx =\lambda \big(\alpha(p)|u(x_1)|^{\alpha(p)-2} u(x_1)| v(x_2)|^{p-\alpha(p)} \phi(x_1)+(p-\alpha(p))|u(x_1)|^{\alpha(p)} v(x_2) |v(x_2)|^{p-\alpha(p)-2} \psi(x_{2})\big)\) for all \((\phi,\psi )\in W_0^{1,p}(\Omega)\times W_0^{1,p}(\Omega)\) is called eigenfunction and \(\lambda\) is called eigenvalue. It is shown that \(\Lambda(p) \in (0,\infty)\) and that there exists its minimizer \((u_p,v_p)\) such that \(u_p \geq 0\), \( v_p\geq 0\) in \(\Omega\) and \(u_p(x_1)^{\alpha(p)} v_p(x_2)^{p-\alpha(p)}=1\); moreover, \(\Lambda(p)\) is the smallest non-negative eigenvalue and possesses the eigenfunction \((u_{p},v_{p})\). Furthermore, the authors show that, passing eventually to a subsequence, such a sequence of eigenfunctions converges uniformly in \(\Omega\) as \(p \rightarrow \infty\) to a pair of continuous functions and identify the limiting equations which have as solutions such limiting functions.
