This well-written paper describes a cooperad structure on the bar construction of an operad of based topological spaces, extending a construction of this reviewer [\textit{M. Ching}, Geom. Topol. 9, 833--933 (2005; Zbl 1153.55006)] to non-reduced operads that satisfy a mild condition in arity \(1\). That construction is applied to the semidirect product of a reduced operad \(\mathcal{P}\) by a group \(G\) that acts on \(\mathcal{P}\). In particular, this result yields a connection between the bar constructions of the framed and unframed little disk operads, giving a topological foundation to work of \textit{G. C. Drummond-Cole} and \textit{B. Vallette} [Sel. Math., New Ser. 19, No. 1, 1--47 (2013; Zbl 1264.18010)] in the rational case, and work of \textit{C. Westerland} [Math. Ann. 340, No. 1, 97--142 (2007; Zbl 1141.55002)] on Koszul duality for the stable framed little disk operads. The author gives precise explicit constructions of the cooperad structures and equivalences that underlie these connections, clearly highlighting the role played by the group \(G\).
