In the article under review, the authors compute the ring structure of the Hochschild cohomology of the algebra \(A = k[s^{a},s^{b}] \cong k[X,Y]/(X^{a} - Y^{b})\), where \(a\) and \(b\) are two coprime positive integers and \(k\) is a field (see Thm. A and B). The computation of the linear structure of the Hochschild cohomology is based on the explicit \(A\)-bimodule resolution of \(A\) that follows from [\textit{J. A. Guccione} and \textit{J. J. Guccione}, J. Pure Appl. Algebra 74, No. 2, 159--176 (1991; Zbl 0746.13004)], whereas the multiplicative structure is computed by means of a contracting homotopy constructed using algebraic discrete Morse theory. The authors also explicitly determine the corresponding Hilbert series of the Hochschild cohomology ring (see Sections 4.7 and 5.3).
