The so-called SG pseudodifferential calculus was first proposed by \textit{C. Parenti}, Ann. Mat. Pura Appl. (4) 93, 359--389 (1972; Zbl 0291.35070), \textit{H. O. Cordes} [The technique of pseudodifferential operators. Cambridge: Univ. Press (1995; Zbl 0828.35145)] and the corresponding Fourier integral calculus was then developed by \textit{S. Coriasco} [Rend. Semin. Mat., Torino 57, No. 4, 249--302 (1999; Zbl 1096.35130)] in the form adapted to the study of hyperbolic Cauchy problems. Later the SG calculus was extended to a class of non-compact manifolds, including manifolds with cylindrical ends. It is now natural to look for a global calculus of SG Fourier operators in this setting. The authors of the present paper attain the aim working in the framework ot the scattering (asymptotically Euclidean) geometry, as defined in [\textit{R. Melrose} and \textit{M. Zworski}, Invent. Math. 124, No. 1--3, 389--436 (1996; Zbl 0855.58058)]. Namely, they develop a complete theory of SG Lagrangian distributions, representing the basic tool to obtain a global calculus of Fourier operators. The precise contents of the paper are, in short, the following: after defining Lagrangian submanifolds and phase functions in the SG frame, the authors study the related oscillatory integrals; finally, the difficult problem of the definition of the principal symbol is discussed.
