The authors extend entropy-based approach (see e.g. [\textit{R. L. Adler} et al., Trans. Am. Math. Soc. 114, 309--319 (1965; Zbl 0127.13102); \textit{F. Colonius} et al., Proc. Am. Math. Soc. 141, No. 12, 4411--4423 (2013; Zbl 1325.54020)]) to discrete-time control systems. More precisely, in the paper two types of invariance pressure dimensions are introduced. These notions are based on ideas proposed in [\textit{F. Colonius} and \textit{C. Kawan}, SIAM J. Control Optim. 48, No. 3, 1701--1721 (2009; Zbl 1193.94049)] and their properties are studied. Moreover, alternative definitions of the dimensions in terms if invariant covers are introduced. To illustrate the theoretic results the authors construct a symbolic control system with zero invariance entropy and positive scaled invariance entropy.
