Let us recall that a continuum \(X\) is a compact, connected metric space. Let \(n\) be a positive integer. Given a continuum \(X\), let \[\mathcal{G}(X) = \{x \in X\colon x \text{ has a neighborhood } G \text{ in } X \text{ such that } G \text{ is a finite graph}\}\] We say that \(X\) is almost meshed whenever the set \(\mathcal{G}(X)\) is dense in \(X\). By a hyperspace of \(X\) we mean a specified collection of subsets of \(X\) endowed with the Hausdorff metric. Some of the most studied hyperspaces are \(2^X\), \(\mathcal{C}_n(X)\) and \(F_n(X)\), where \(F_n(X)\) is called the \(n\)-th symmetric product of \(X\). A classical problem in this area is to determine if a continuum \(X\) has unique hyperspace \(M(X)\), where \(M(X)\in \{2^X, C_n(X), F_n(X))\}\). The objective of the paper under review is to prove that if \(X\) is an almost meshed locally connected continuum, then \(X\) has unique third symmetric product.
