The authors focus on a mathematically rigorous proof of the averaging behavior of oscillatory surface integrals. They identify a geometric rule called \textit{irrational direction dense condition} under which the averaging takes place. As an application, they prove the homogenization asymptotics for elliptic systems with Dirichlet boundary data in \(C^1\)-domains.
