Let \(k\) be a number field and \(\Omega\) the set of its places. For any variety \(X\) over \(k\) we have the global-to-local map \(\text{CH}_0(X)\rightarrow \prod_{v\in\Omega}\text{CH}_0(X\otimes_kk_v)\) of the Chow groups of zero-cycles, where \(k_v\) denotes the completion of \(k\) at \(v\). Similarly when there is a proper morphism from \(X\) to another variety \(C\), we have the relative version \(\Phi :\text{CH}_0(X/C)\rightarrow \prod_{v\in\Omega}\text{CH}_0(X\otimes_kk_v/C\otimes_kk_v)\), where \(\text{CH}_0(X/C)\) denotes the kernel of the push-forward map \(\text{CH}_0(X)\rightarrow \text{CH}_0(C)\). The main result of this paper proves the injectivity of \(\Phi\) when \(\pi :X\rightarrow C\) is a quadric fibration over a number field \(k\), under the assumption that \(\text{dim}X=2\) or \(3\), and that the generic fiber of \(\pi\) is isomorphic to a quadric defined over \(k\). Furthermore, in contrast to a result in [\textit{R. Parimala} and \textit{V. Suresh}, Invent. Math. 122, No. 1, 83--117 (1996; Zbl 0865.14002); erratum 123, No. 3, 611 (1996)] which deals with the case when \(\dim X\geq 4\), he shows that \(\Phi_{\text{real}} :\text{CH}_0(X/C)\rightarrow \prod_{v\in\Omega}\text{CH}_0(X\otimes_{\mathbb{Q}}\mathbb{R}/C\otimes_{\mathbb{Q}}\mathbb{R})\) is not injective for a certain quadratic fibration \(X\rightarrow C\) defined over \(\mathbb{Q}\) with \(\dim X=3\).
