The model presented in this paper is a hermaphroditic analogue of the asexual model introduced and studied previously by several authors. The main aim of the authors is to prove the asymptotic stability of trait distribution. Two main models are described and investigated. In both models the offspring trait is the parental mean trait randomly perturbed by some external environmental effects or genetic mutations. In the first model the noise is additive. The second model contains multiplicative noise, particularly, the Tjon-Wu version of the Boltzmann equation. The authors give a proof of a theorem of \textit{A. Lasota} and \textit{J. Traple} [J. Differ. Equations 159, No. 2, 578--596, Art. No. jdeq.1999.3674 (1999; Zbl 0946.45004)] concerning the asymptotic stability of this equation. In case of trait reduction, all traits reduce to a particular one, which is the mean trait of the initial population. Some conditions which guarantee the global existence of solutions, the persistence of the population and the convergence of its size to stable level are established.
