Let \(X\) be a compact Riemann surface of genus \(g\geq 2\), and \(Z(s)\) be the associated Selberg zeta-function. For a complex number \(a\), the solutions of \(Z(s)=a\) are called \(a\)-points of \(Z(s)\). The main result of the paper under review is that, the imaginary parts of nontrivial \(a\)-points of the Selberg zeta-function \(Z(s)\) are uniformly distributed modulo one. Moreover, the authors also consider the eigenvalues of the hyperbolic Laplacian on \(X\), and give an equivalent characterization for the eigenvalues to be uniformly distributed modulo one.
