In mathematics, a functional equation is any equation that specifies a function in implicit form. Often, the equation relates the value of a function (or functions) at some point with its values at other points. In the present work, the authors present exact solutions of the single variable functional equations \[ \varphi=\pm\varphi\circ f+g, \] where \(f, g\) are given and \(f\) is globally periodic with the prime period \(n\) (i.e., \(f^i\neq id\) for \(1 < i < n\) and \(f^n = id\)).
