This article discusses the renormalization group approach to the renormalizable tensorial group field theory for \(\mathrm{SU}(2)\) discussed in [the author et al., Commun. Math. Phys. 330, No. 2, 581--637 (2014; Zbl 1300.83023)]. The author studies the Gaussian fixed point and carries out a perturbative expansion to second order to study the marginal parameters. The article takes the opportunity to exhibit and review several technical tools, like combinatorial factors and the Laplace approximation, which simplifies the amplitudes in the UV limit to Gaussian integrals. It is observed that renormalization group trajectories with non-zero and positive marginal parameters are not asymptotically free. One can therefore not exclude the existence of a Landau pole.
