The author studies whether a function on the \(n\)-dimensional torus \(\mathbb T^n= \mathbb R^n/\mathbb Z^n\) is uniquely determined by its integral over all periodic geodesics. He shows injectivity of the X-ray transform and the \(d\)-plane Radon transform for distributions on the \(n\)-torus, generalizing the previous result by \textit{A. Abouelaz} and \textit{F. Rouvière} [Mediterr. J. Math. 8, No. 4, 463--471 (2011; Zbl 1232.53061)] as follows: one can allow integrals over periodic \(d\)-planes for \(d<n\), and allow the functions to be tensor fields of any order, allowing the tensors to have distribution valued coefficients, which implies new injectivity results for the periodic broken ray transform on cubes.
