Several recent papers (see for instance the paper by \textit{E. Khukhro} et al. [Forum Math. 26, No. 1, 73-112 (2014; Zbl 1328.17017)]) have studied finite groups \(G\) admitting a Frobenius group of automorphisms \(FH\), with Frobenius kernel \(F\) and complement \(H\), with the aim of obtaining bounds on the order, rank, and other invariants of \(G\) in terms of the order of \(H\), and the corresponding invariant for \(C_G(H)\). These were first obtained when the Frobenius kernel acts fixed-point freely on \(G\), and later under more general assumptions (see for instance the paper by \textit{G. Ercan} et al. [Commun. Algebra 42, No. 11, 4751-4756 (2014; Zbl 1302.20026)]). The paper under review presents estimates for the order and the rank of a finite group \(G\) which admits a Frobenius-like group of automorphisms \(FH\) of coprime order which satisfies certain additional conditions, such as \(FH\) having odd order, or \(H\) having order \(2\). Here \(FH\) is said to be Frobenius-like if \(FH/F'\) is Frobenius, with kernel \(F/F'\). Frobenius-like sections occur in every non-nilpotent finite group. Estimates for the order are in terms of the orders of \(C_G(F)\), \(H\) and \(C_G(H)\), while those for the rank are in terms of the order of \(H\), and the ranks of \(C_G(F)\) and \(C_G(H)\).
