Let \(a,b\) be positive integers. A cluster algebra \(C(a,b)\) of rank 2 is a subring of the field of rational functions in two variables \({\mathbb Q}(x,y)\) which is generated by four elements in such a way that it is isomorphic to \({\mathbb Z}[x,y,z,t]/(xz-y^a-1,yt-z^b-1)\). Denote by \(X_k(a,b)\) the affine surface defined by that algebra over an extension field \(k\) of the field \({\mathbb Q}\) of rational numbers. In the paper under review the authors describe exhaustively the automorphism group \(\mathrm{Aut}(X_k(a,b))\) of \(X_k(a,b)\). In particular, they deduce the structure of the automorphism group of \(C(a,b)\) by noting that this group is naturally isomorphic to \(\mathrm{Aut}(X_{\mathbb Q}(a,b))\).
