Let \(G\) be a connected reductive complex algebraic group. A homogeneous \(G\)-variety is called a spherical homogeneous space if it admits an open orbit for a Borel subgroup of \(G\). A spherical embedding is an equivariant open embedding of a spherical homogeneous space into a normal algebraic \(G\)-variety. Every \(G\)-orbit of a spherical embedding is a spherical homogeneous space. Spherical homogeneous spaces are classified in terms of combinatorial invariants called homogenous spherical data, as well as spherical embeddings are classified in terms of further combinatorial invariants called colored fans. A colored fan is a collection of objects, called colored cones, which are in bijection with the \(G\)-orbits in the corresponding spherical embedding. Given the homogeneous spherical datum of a spherical homogenous space \(X_1\), the colored fan of a spherical embedding \(X\) of \(X_1\), and the colored cone of a \(G\)-orbit \(X_0\) in \(X\), the authors describe the homogeneous spherical datum of the spherical homogeneous space \(X_0\) and the colored fan of the spherical embedding of \(X_0\) given by its closure in \(X\).
