An algebra \(A(+,\cdot,\{*,*\})\) over an arbitrary field \(K\) is said a \textit{Poisson algebra} if \(A(+,\cdot)\) is an associative commutative \(K\)-algebra with unit, \(A(+,\{*,*\})\) is a Lie algebra with a multiplication denoted by \(\{*,*\}\), and the Leibniz rule is satisfied: \[ \{a\cdot b,c\}=a\cdot \{b,c\}+\{a,c\}\cdot b,\quad a,b,c\in A. \] The notion of a free Poisson algebra was introduced by \textit{I. P. Shestakov} [Algebra Logic 32, No. 5, 309--317 (1993); translation from Algebra Logika 32, No. 5, No. 5, 571--584 (1993; Zbl 0826.17013)]. The codimension growth of Poisson PI-algebras over a field of characteristic zero was studied in [\textit{S. P. Mishchenko} et al., Trans. Am. Math. Soc. 359, No. 10, 4669--4694 (2007; Zbl 1156.17005)]. The author studies the following construction. Let \(L\) be a Lie algebra then one naturally defines the structure of a Poisson algebra on the space \(P(L)=K\oplus L \) by: \[ (\alpha, a)\cdot (\beta , b)=(\alpha\beta,\alpha b+\beta a ),\;\{(\alpha, a), (\beta , b)\}=(0,[a,b]),\quad \alpha,\beta\in K; a,b\in L. \] The author studies relations between identities, the codimension growth, the exponent, Specht property, and other characteristics of a Lie algebra \(L\) and the related Poisson algebra \(P(L)\) such as the following. {\parindent=6mm \begin{itemize}\item[1)] If \(L\) is a free Lie algebra of countable rank, then \(c_n(P(L))\geq [(n-1)! e]\), i.e. the codimension growth is very close to that that of the free Poisson algebra, the latter being equal to \(n!\). \item [2)] In particular, the variety of Poisson algebras defined by the identity \(\{X_1,X_2\}\cdot \{X_3,X_4\}\equiv 0\) satisfies the previous bound. \item [3)] If the exponent of the codimension growth \(\mathrm {Exp} (L)\) exists then there exists the exponent of \(P(L)\) as well and \(\mathrm {Exp} (P(L))=\mathrm {Exp} (L)+1\). \item [4)] Using known examples of Lie algebras with a) almost exponential growth, or b) Specht property, or c) of noninteger exponents, the author obtains varieties of Poisson algebras having the respective property. \end{itemize}}
