This work concerns the understanding of the asymptotic behavior of the Betti numbers of the resolution of the ideal of a projective variety as the positivity of the embedding line bundle grows. Let \(X\) be a smooth projective variety of dimension \(n\) over a field \(k\). Let \(A\) be a fixed ample divisor and \(P\) be arbitrary divisor on \(X\). For any \(d>0\), set \(L_{d}=dA+P\). When \(d\) is sufficiently large, \(L_{d}\) defines a normal generated embedding \(X\subset\mathbb{P}^{r_{d}}\). Let \(k_{p_{d},q}(X;L)\) be the Betti numbers of \(L_{d}.\) The authors conjecture that there is a normalizing function \(F_{q}(d)\) such that \(F_{d}(d)\cdot k_{p_{d},q}(X;L_{d})\) approaches \(e^{-a^{2}/2}\) as \(d\) approaches infinity and \(p_{d}\) approaches \(r_{d}/2+a\cdot\sqrt{r_{d}}/2\) when \(q\) is a fixed weight. The authors show the conjecture is truth when \(X\) is a curve and provide some analyses and relative results for higher dimensional cases.
