Based on the authors' abstract: In [Inf. Control 8, 338--353 (1965; Zbl 0139.24606)], \textit{L. A. Zadeh} introduced the concept of a fuzzy set, as a new way to represent the vagueness applicable to every day life problems. \textit{I. Kramosil} and \textit{J. Michalek} [Kybernetika 11, 336--344 (1975; Zbl 0319.54002)] investigated the notion of fuzzy metric space which is closely related to a class of probabilistic metric spaces. \textit{A. George} and \textit{P. Veeramani} [Fuzzy Sets Syst. 64, No. 3, 395--399 (1994; Zbl 0843.54014)] and [Fuzzy Sets Syst. 90, No. 3, 365--368 (1997; Zbl 0917.54010)] modified the concept of fuzzy metric, and obtained a Hausdorff and first countable topology on the modified fuzzy metric space. Then \textit{V. Gregori} and \textit{S. Romaguera} [Fuzzy Sets Syst. 115, No. 3, 485--489 (2000; Zbl 0985.54007)] proved that the topology induced by a fuzzy metric in George and Veeramani's sense is metrizable. \textit{M. Grabiec} [Fuzzy Sets Syst. 27, No. 3, 385--389 (1988; Zbl 0664.54032)] obtained a fuzzy version of the Banach contraction principle in fuzzy metric spaces in Kramosil and Michalek's sense. \textit{V. Gregori} and \textit{A. Sapena} [Fuzzy Sets Syst. 125, No. 2, 245--252 (2002; Zbl 0995.54046)] introduced the concept of fuzzy contractive mappings and proved some fixed point results for such mappings. \textit{W. A. Kirk} et al. [Fixed Point Theory 4, No. 1, 79--89 (2003; Zbl 1052.54032)] introduced the notion of a cyclic representation and characterized the Banach contraction principle in the context of a cyclic mapping. In this paper, the authors generalize and extend the concept of fuzzy contractive mappings to fuzzy cyclic contractions and prove some fixed point results for operators belonging to a class consisting of fuzzy cyclic operators in complete fuzzy metric spaces, providing examples which illustrate their results. They also obtain a Hausdorff topology for this kind of fuzzy metric space.
