    Let \(X\) be a topological space. By \(USC(X)\) and \(C(X)\) the authors denote the sets of all upper semi-continuous maps and of all continuous maps from \(X\) to \(I =[0, 1],\) respectively. Also, for every \(f\in USC(X)\), define \(\downarrow f = \{(x, t)\in X \times I : t \leq f(x)\}\). The closed set \(\downarrow f\) in the product space \(X \times I\) is called the hypograph of \(f\). Finally, let \(\downarrow C(X) = \{\downarrow f : f\in C(X)\}\) and \(Cld(X\times I)\) the set of all non-empty closed sets in the product space \(X\times I\). Then, \(\downarrow C(X)\subset Cld(X\times I)\). The authors use \(Cld_F(X\times I)\) to denote \(Cld(X\times I)\) with the Fell topology and \(\downarrow C_F(X)\) to denote the set \( \downarrow C(X)\) with the subspace topology of the space \(Cld_F(X\times I)\). The authors work on the following problem: Give the topological classification of the metrizable function spaces \(\downarrow C_F(X)\) for all Tychonoff spaces \(X\). In this present paper, they give a partial answer for the above problem. The main result is the following theorem. { Main Theorem.} For a Tychonoff \(k\)-space \(X\), the following statements are equivalent: {\parindent=6mm \begin{itemize} \item[(a)] \(\downarrow C_F(X) \approx c_0\); \item [(b)] \(\downarrow C_F(X)\) is metrizable but not Baire; \item [(c)] \(X\) is a weakly locally compact and hemicompact \(\aleph_0\)-space without dense set of isolated points \end{itemize}}
