The Fourier transform on the Heisenberg group can be defined in terms of the Schrödinger representations on \(L^2(\mathbb{R}^n)\). An alternative definition, very useful when studying pseudo-differential operators, is given in terms of the Weyl transformation, see, for example, the second author [Weyl transforms. New York, NY: Springer (1998; Zbl 0908.44002)]. The aim of the present paper is to extend such a circle of ideas to the case of \(H\)-type groups, the main result being the identity between \(H\)-type Fourier transform and the classical Weyl transform in \(\mathbb{R}^n\).
