In the very interesting paper under review, the authors initiate the study of maps that minimize the energy \[ \int_D \big( |\nabla \mathbf{u}|^2+2|\text\textbf{u}|\big)\;dx. \] Thanks to the Lipschitz character of the integrand, the functional gives rise to the singular Euler equations \[ \Delta \mathbf{u}=\dfrac{\text\textbf{u}}{|\text\textbf{u}|}\chi_{\{|\text\textbf{u}|>0\}},\quad \text\textbf{u}=(u_1,\dots,u_m). \] The primary goal of the authors is to set up a road map for future developments of the theory related to such energy minimising maps. The results obtained in the paper concern regularity of the solution as well as that of the free boundary. These are achieved by using monotonicity formulas and epiperimetric inequalities, in combination with appropriate geometric analysis.
