Let \(L^2_a(\mathbf{B},d\nu)\) denote the Bergman space of holomorphic functions defined on the unit ball \(\mathbf{B}\) in \(\mathbb C^n\) with normalized volume measure \(d\nu\) on \(\mathbf{B}\). The Toeplitz operator \(T_\varphi\) with a bounded symbol \(\varphi\) is defined on \(L^2_a(\mathbf{B},d\nu)\) by the formula \(T_\varphi f=P(\varphi f)\), where \(P\) is the orthogonal projection from \(L^2(\mathbf{B},d\nu)\) onto \(L^2_a(\mathbf{B},d\nu)\). For a positive number \((n-1)/(n+1)<s<1\), an \(s\)-weakly localized operator \(B\) is a bounded linear operator on \(L^2_a(\mathbf{B},d\nu)\) satisfying the conditions \[ \sup_{z\in\mathbf{B}}\int |\langle Bk_z,k_w\rangle|\left(\frac{1-|w|^2}{1-|z|^2}\right)^{s(n+1)/2}\frac{d\nu(w)}{(1-|z|^2)^{n+1}}<\infty, \] \[ \sup_{z\in\mathbf{B}}\int |\langle B^*k_z,k_w\rangle|\left(\frac{1-|w|^2}{1-|z|^2}\right)^{s(n+1)/2}\frac{d\nu(w)}{(1-|z|^2)^{n+1}}<\infty, \] \[ \lim_{r\to\infty}\sup_{z\in\mathbf{B}}\int_{\mathbf{B}\setminus D(z,r)} |\langle Bk_z,k_w\rangle|\left(\frac{1-|w|^2}{1-|z|^2}\right)^{s(n+1)/2}\frac{d\nu(w)}{(1-|z|^2)^{n+1}}=0\;\text{and} \] \[ \lim_{r\to\infty}\sup_{z\in\mathbf{B}}\int_{\mathbf{B}\setminus D(z,r)} |\langle B^*k_z,k_w\rangle|\left(\frac{1-|w|^2}{1-|z|^2}\right)^{s(n+1)/2}\frac{d\nu(w)}{(1-|z|^2)^{n+1}}=0, \] where \(D(z,r)\) denotes a ball in the Bergman metric and \(k_z\) is a normalized reproducing kernel for the Bergman space \(L^2_a(\mathbf{B},d\nu)\). This definition is a generalization of the definition given in [\textit{J. Isralowitz}, \textit{M. Mitkovski} and \textit{B. Wick}, ``Localization and compactness in Bergman and Fock spaces'', Indiana Univ. Math. J. 64, No. 5, 1553--1573 (2015; \url{doi:10.1512/iumj.2015.64.5670}), \url{arxiv:1306.0316}]. By \(A_s\) a collection of all \(s\)-weakly localized operators is denoted. The main theorem of this paper (Theorem 1.5) says that \(C^*(A_s)\), the \(C^*\)-algebra generated by \(A_s\), is equal to the operator norm closure of the set of all Toeplitz operators with bounded symbols for each \((n-1)/(n+1)<s<1\). The author points out that as a consequence \(C^*(A_s)=T\) for every such \(s\), where \(T\) denotes the \(C^*\)-algebra generated by the set of all Toeplitz operators with bounded symbols. The author also gives a sketch of a proof of an analogue of Theorem 1.5 in the setting of Fock spaces.
