The main result of the paper is the following Theorem. Let \(p\) be a prime and \(P\) a Camina \(p\)-group, i.e., a \(p\)-group in which every nontrivial coset of \(G'\) is a conjugacy class of \(G\). Suppose that \(P\) acts on a nontrivial group \(Q\) in such a way that \(C_P(x)\leq P'\) for all nonidentity elements \(x\in Q\). Then \(P\) is the quaternion group of order 8, and the action is Frobenius. This result, combined with Theorem 1 in [\textit{M. L. Lewis}, Rocky Mt. J. Math. 44, No. 2, 591-597 (2014; Zbl 1309.20029); erratum 45, No. 1, 273 (2015; Zbl 1318.20031)], provides a correct (and simplified) proof of the original classification of Camina \(p\)-groups by \textit{R. Dark} and \textit{C. M. Scoppola} [J. Algebra 181, No. 3, 787-802 (1996; Zbl 0860.20017)].
