This work aims to study an atom that interacts, via the Ritz Hamiltonian, \(-{\mathbf d_0} \cdot {\mathbf E}\), with the quantized electromagnetic field \({\mathbf E}\). It is assumed that the atom has a finite mass \(m\), finitely many excited states and an electric dipole moment \({\mathbf d}_0\). Within the Pauli-Fierz model, the present work in particular focuses on study of atomic resonances, including the Lamb shift, of the decay channels, and lifetimes of excited states. Among the new results are the proofs of a real analyticity of the above quantities as functions of the total moment, \(-{\mathbf p} (|{\mathbf p}| < mc\) where \(c\) is the speed of light), of the dressed atom and of the analyticity in the elementary electric charge near the origin.
