In this paper, a global sensitivity analysis is presented for a simple ODE model used to describe specific biological experiments. The outcome of the analysis is 8 important and 8 insignificant parameters. By excluding the 8 insignificant parameters, a reduced model is deduced. This model demonstrates a very good accuracy to estimate the outputs. The authors conclude the evident fact that it is necessary to include in the model only important parameters. But considering that there are many approaches to extract such parameters, the novelty of the paper is (1) an application of sensitivity analysis for the solution of this problem and (2) an improvement of the biological interpretation of outcomes of the model. The method presented here gives an opportunity to identify the particular elements of the system that are necessary for the expected result.
