It is part of the chromatic approach to homotopy theory to understand the homotopy groups of the sphere spectrum in terms of the homotopy groups of its localizations \(L_{K(n)}\mathbb{S}_{(p)}\) with respect to the Morava \(K\)-theories \(K(n)\) and a prime \(p\). While we have a complete understanding in the case \(n=1\), we are only slowly approaching a similar understanding for \(n=2\). The low prime cases \(p=2\) and \(p=3\) are the most difficult. We will fix \(p=3\) for the rest of this review. In [Topology 45, No. 2, 343--402 (2006; Zbl 1099.55002)], \textit{M. Behrens} defined a spectrum \(Q(2)\) built from topological modular forms, which approximates \(L_{K(2)}\mathbb{S}_{(3)}\): There is a cofiber sequence relating \(L_{K(2)}Q(2)\), its Spanier-Whitehead dual and \(L_{K(2)}\mathbb{S}_{(3)}\). There is the hope that \(Q(2)\) might be more computationally accessible than \(L_{K(2)}\mathbb{S}_{(3)}\), but contain a similar amount of information. For example, \(Q(2)\) is conjectured to detect the divided \(\beta\)-family that generates the \(2\)-line of the Adams-Novikov spectral sequence for \(\mathbb{S}_{(3)}\). The present work sets out to calculate the \(E_2\)-term of the Adams-Novikov spectral sequence converging to \(\pi_*Q(2)\). The computation is complete up to a non-determined torsion module in degrees congruent \(54\) modulo \(108\). The methods rely on the computation of the analogous \(E_2\)-term for \(TMF_{(3)}\) [\textit{T. Bauer}, Geom. Topol. Monogr. 13, 11--40 (2008; Zbl 1147.55005)]. In the last section, the author gives some classes in the \(E_2\)-term he computed that might represent elements of the divided \(\beta\)-family in examples.
