      The author studies the periodic orbits (cycles) in the system \[ \begin{aligned} \dot{z}=V(z),\end{aligned} \] where \(V=(V_1,\ldots,V_n)\in C^1(\Omega,\mathbb{R}^n)\), \(\Omega\subset\mathbb{R}^n\) is open and connected, \(z=(z_1,\ldots,z_n)\in\Omega\). Assuming some symmetry in the vector field, the author establishes that the study of cycles' periods in the system can be reduced to that of the cycles' periods of another system (with the same orbits but with different solutions) \[ \begin{aligned}\dot{z}=\alpha(z)V(z),\end{aligned} \] \(\alpha \in C^0(\Omega, \mathbb{R}^n)\). Sometimes the second system is simpler and easier to study. Several examples concerned with planar polynomial systems are given, where planar centers having equal period functions are produced.
