The first main result in this paper is the determination of an indexing set for the irreducible modules of the \textit{Yokonuma-Temperley-Lieb algebra}, \(\text{YTL}_{d,n}(u)\), as defined in [\textit{D. Goundaroulis} et al., Banach Cent. Publ. 103, 77-99 (2014; Zbl 1336.57007)] as a quotient of the \textit{Yokonuma-Hecke algebra}, an algebra which has been studied recently by the first author and others in, for example, [\textit{M. Chlouveraki} and \textit{L. Poulain d'Andecy}, Adv. Math. 259, 134-172 (2014; Zbl 1293.20007)]. The algebra \(\text{YTL}_{d,n}(u)\) is a higher level generalisation of the classical Temperley-Lieb algebra, which can be defined as a quotient of the Iwahori-Hecke algebra of the symmetric group. To obtain the result, the authors first use Tits's deformation theorem and a simple observation which reduces the problem to examining restrictions of the simple modules for \(G(d,1,n)\) from the complex reflection group \(G(d,1,n)\) to the symmetric group \(\mathfrak S_n\). The indexing set for the irreducibles then follows from a lemma concerning Littlewood-Richardson coefficients. The authors then proceed with the second main result of the paper, which is a calculation of the dimension and an explicit basis of \(\text{YTL}_{d,n}(u)\). The dimension follows cleanly from the previous results and the dimension formula for the classical Temperley-Lieb algebra. Producing a basis for the algebra takes more work. The authors first produce a spanning set for \(\text{YTL}_{d,n}(u)\) from a basis of the Yokonuma-Hecke algebra constructed by \textit{J. Juyumaya} [in J. Knot Theory Ramifications 13, No. 1, 25-39 (2004; Zbl 1100.20008)]. Finally, a lengthy series of results concerning relations in \(\text{YTL}_{d,n}(u)\) allows the authors to extract a basis from this spanning set. The paper is well written and very readable, with all the necessary background material introduced and explained clearly.
