    The author defines the hyperelliptic mapping class group of a closed nonorientable surface as the centralizer in the whole mapping class group of an appropriate hyperelliptic involution (obtained in a suitable way from the hyperelliptic involution of an orientable surface). The main result of the paper is a simple presentation of the hyperelliptic mapping class group of a nonorientable surface (which, as in the orientable case for genus \(g=2\), coincides with the whole mapping class group for genus \(g=3\)). As an application, the first homology of the hyperelliptic mapping class group of a nonorientable surface is computed with coefficients in the first integer homology group of the surface. We note that presentations of the whole mapping class group of a nonorientable surface are obtained in an arXiv-preprint by \textit{L. Paris} and \textit{B. Szepietowski} [A presentation for the mapping class group of a nonorientable surface, {\url arXiv:1308.5856}], and are rewritten with the hyperelliptic involution as one of the generators in a paper by the present author [\textit{M. Stukow}, J. Pure Appl. Algebra 218, No. 12, 2226--2239 (2014; Zbl 1301.57015)].
