The notion of separable ring has been generalized to monads in a tensor triangulated category by \textit{A. Bruguières} and \textit{A. Virelizier} [Adv. Math. 215, No. 2, 679--733 (2007; Zbl 1168.18002)] and by \textit{P. Balmer} [Adv. Math. 226, No. 5, 4352--4372 (2011; Zbl 1236.18013)], while there is also a notion of separable functor, see for example [\textit{C. Năstăsescu} et al., J. Algebra 123, No. 2, 397--413 (1989; Zbl 0673.16026)]. The author of this article proves that in an adjoint pair \((F,U)\) of functors, the functor \(U\) is separable if and only if the defined monad is separable and the associated comparison functor is an equivalence up to retracts, and then applies the obtained results to obtain two triangle equivalences; proving in particular that if the order of a group \(G\) is invertible in an abelian category \(A\), then there is a triangle equivalence between the bounded derived category of the invariants \(D^b(A^G)\) and the invariants of the bounded derived category of \(A\), that is \(D^b(A)^G\).
