Free boundaries touching the boundary of the domain for some reaction-diffusion problems (Q2349077)

Looking into two particular classes of elliptic equations of reaction-diffusion type, the authors give conditions on the behaviour of the trace datum near the boundary of its support to study whether the free boundary given by the boundary of the support of the solution is connected or not with the boundary of the support of the boundary datum. The two classes of problems include a fast reaction case (inspired from chemical engineering) and a contact-like case (similar to inequalities arising in mechanics).
