Looking at the Gamma-limit for thin elastic plates, the author studies the simultaneous homogenization and dimension reduction of a sequence of thin elastic plates having a thickness-dependent oscillating energy. The energy scaling employed here corresponds to Kirchhoff's nonlinear bending theory of plates.
