    In this paper, the author considers a class of nonlinear elliptic equations with measure data of the form \[ -\operatorname{div} a(Du)=\mu \quad\text{in}\,\, \Omega,\leqno{(1)} \] where \(\Omega \) is a bounded open subset of \(\mathbb R^n\) (\(n\geq 2\)), \(\mu\) is a Borel measure with finite total mass, \(|\mu|(\Omega)<\infty\), or a function in \(L^1(\Omega)\) and the differential vector field \(a(\cdot)\) satisfies the ellipticity and growth conditions: {\parindent=10mm \begin{itemize}\item[(A1)] \(\langle \partial a(z)\lambda, \lambda\rangle \geq \nu\frac{g(|z|)}{|z|}|\lambda|^2,\) \item[(A2)] \(|a(z)|+|\partial a(z)||z|\leq Lg(|z|),\) \end{itemize}} for all \(z, \lambda \in \mathbb R^n\) and with \(0 < \nu \leq 1 \leq L <\infty\). \(\partial a\) denotes the gradient of \(a\) with respect the variable \(z\) and \(g\) is a positive function in \(C^1(0, \infty)\) satisfying {\parindent=10mm \begin{itemize}\item[(G1)] \( 1\leq \frac{tg'(t)}{g(t)}\leq g_1, \quad \text{for}\;t>0,\) \item[(G2)] \(\displaystyle \lim_{t\rightarrow 0^+}\frac{g(t)}{t}=0, \quad \lim_{t\rightarrow \infty}\frac{g(t)}{t}=\infty.\) \end{itemize}} The author proves the pointwise gradient bounds for solutions of problem (1) in terms of linear Riesz potentials and also gets optimal conditions for the continuity of the gradient.
