A reaction-diffusion predator-prey system with strong Allee effect and a protection zone for the prey is considered in this paper. Global existence and a priori bounds for solutions to the dynamical equation are discussed. The steady state equation has three non-negative constant solutions: the trivial solution and two semi-trivial solutions. Additionally, this equation may have non-constant semi-trivial solutions, which are discussed in the paper. The local stability of these trivial and semi-trivial solutions is determined through linear stability. The authors show that the dynamics is exactly bistable for a certain parameter range. In particular it is shown that the overexploitation phenomenon can be avoided if the Allee effect threshold is low and the protection zone is large. They prove the existence or the nonexistence of positive steady state solutions for different parameter ranges.
