As the title indicates, the author studies the interaction of power operations and coactions in the homology of structured ring spectra. In various examples of interest, he provides explicit formulas relating these two types of structures. The results in this paper recover and extend work by \textit{T. Bisson} and \textit{A. Joyal} [C. R. Math. Acad. Sci., Soc. R. Can. 17, No. 4, 141--146 (1995; Zbl 0849.55007)] and \textit{R. R. Bruner} et al. [\(H_{\infty}\) ring spectra and their applications. Berlin etc.: Springer-Verlag (1986; Zbl 0585.55016)]. The paper is structured as follows. In the first part, the author carefully reviews the construction of power operations and of homology coactions. In the second part, he considers Eilenberg-Mac\ Lane spectra and studies the interplay of homology coactions of the dual Steenrod algebra with Kudo-Araki (respectively Dyer-Lashof) operations. The author also shows how the resulting coaction formulas give rise to the Nishida relations. In the last part of the paper, the results are applied to \(p\)-local commutative \(S\)-algebras \(S/\!/p\) that are obtained from a certain cell attachment in commutative \(S\)-algebras.
