One of the most important open problems of Finsler geometry is to classify Finsler spaces of scalar flag curvature. The present work studies this question and in Theorems 3.1 and 4.3 a classification is given of regular \((\alpha , \beta )\)-metrics on an \(n\)-dimensional manifold with \(n\geq 3\) under the supplementary condition that the \(S\)-curvatures are isotropic.
