The results of the present paper are mainly motivated by earlier work of \textit{R. Schoof} related to classification of abelian varieties. More specifically [Compos. Math. 141, No. 4, 847--868 (2005; Zbl 1173.11333)] investigates the case of abelian varieties over \(\mathbb{Q}\) with semistable reduction in only one prime \(l\) and good reduction everywhere else and it is established that they do not exist for \(l= 2,3,5,7,13\), whereas for the case when \(l=11\) they are isogenous to a product of the Jacobian variety \(J_0(11)\) of the modular curve \(X_0(11)\). In a later paper [Manuscr. Math. 139, No. 1--2, 49--70 (2012; Zbl 1323.11040)] Schoof presents some generalizations of this result. The paper under review has as main purpose to translate some of the results of Schoof and others in terms of deformation theory of representations associated to elliptic curves. More specifically, the author of this nice paper computes the framed deformation functor associated to a reducible representation given as a direct sum of two-dimensional representations associated to elliptic curves with appropriate local conditions.
