The authors study transversal submanifolds in Carnot groups. The main results are a blow-up theorem and a negligibility theorem for all \(C^1\) smooth transversal submanifolds which generalize the results obtained for hypersurfaces in [the first author, ibid. 106, 95--127 (2008; Zbl 1158.22006); J. Eur. Math. Soc. (JEMS) 8, No. 4, 585--609 (2006; Zbl 1107.22004)].
