The goal of the paper is to present a conceptual algorithm in order to compute the portion \(P(g)\) of matrices with real spectrum in the real symplectic Lie algebra \(\mathrm{sp}_{2n}(\mathbb R)= \{X\in \mathrm{gl}_{2n}(\mathbb R)\mid X^TJ+JX=0\}\), with the matrix \(J=\left(\begin{smallmatrix} 0 &I_n\\ -I_n &0\end{smallmatrix}\right)\), where \(I_n\) is the identity matrix of size \(0\). A new method for computing \(P(g)\) of matrices with real spectrum in a large class of real Lie algebra is described, too.
