The main result of this very well written paper gives explicit generators and relations for the indecomposable part \(K_3^{\text{ind}}(F)\) of the third algebraic \(K\)-group \(K_3(F)\) associated with a number field \(F\). More precisely, following Neumann's construction of the extended Bloch group \(\hat{\mathcal{B}}({\mathbb C})\) [\textit{W. D. Neumann}, Geom. Topol. 8, 413--474 (2004; Zbl 1053.57010)], the author defines an extended Bloch group \(\hat{\mathcal{B}}(F)\) and shows that \(\hat{\mathcal{B}}(F)\) is isomorphic to \(K_3^{\text{ind}}(F)\). The extended Bloch group \(\hat{\mathcal{B}}(F)\) can be defined for an arbitrary field \(F\), but then depends on an extension of \(F^*\) by \(\mathbb Z\); this dependence can be undone when \(F\) is a number field or, more generally, a so-called free field. For earlier structure results about \(K_3^{\text{ind}}(F)\) of a field \(F\) the reader is referred to Levine [\textit{M. Levine}, Ann. Sci. Éc. Norm. Supér. (4) 22, No. 2, 255--344 (1989; Zbl 0705.19001)] and Merkurjev-Suslin [\textit{A. S. Merkur'ev} and \textit{A. A. Suslin}, Izv. Akad. Nauk SSSR, Ser. Mat. 54, No. 3, 522--545 (1990; Zbl 0711.19002)]. The main result of this paper is complemented with the following additional results. Firstly, via the isomorphism \(\hat{\mathcal{B}}(F) \cong K_3^{\text{ind}}(F)\), the Borel regulator on \(K_3^{\text{ind}}(F)\) becomes the Rogers dilogarithm map on \(\hat{\mathcal{B}}(F)\). Secondly, explicit symbol expressions for generators of the \(p\)-parts of the torsion of \(\hat{\mathcal{B}}(F)\) are given. Finally, the author derives refinements of a certain relation between the fundamental class of an oriented hyperbolic \(3\)-manifold, its volume and its Chern-Simons invariant, cf.\ [Neumann, loc. cit.] and [\textit{S. Garoufalidis} et al., Duke Math. J. 164, No. 11, 2099--2160 (2015; Zbl 1335.57034)].
