    The article deals with the following system of difference equations \[ x_{n+1} = \frac{x_ny_{n-1}^b + 1}{x_n + y_{n-1}^b}, \qquad y_{n+1} = \frac{y_nx_{n-1}^b + 1}{y_n + x_{n-1}^b}, \qquad n = 0,1,2,\ldots \] on the set \((0,\infty) \times (0,\infty)\) with the parameter \(b \in [0,\infty)\). The main result: the positive equilibrium point \((\overline{x},\overline{y}) = (1,1)\) is globally asymptotically stable.
