The paper under review uses the semiclassical analytic approach of its prequel [Publ. Math., Inst. Hautes Étud. Sci. 121, Article ID 69, 323--361 (2015; Zbl 1323.57007)] to prove the Witten Asymptotic Expansion Conjecture for Dehn fillings of the figure-eight knot. A key additional observation is that the Reidemeister torsion satisfies a certain differential equation along the branches of a character variety deduced from \(q\)-difference relations. The authors note that their strategy should be applicable for a more general class of knots whose \(q\)-difference relations are relatively well understood.
