The unordered \(k\)-points configuration space \(C_k(M)\) in a manifold \(M\) is defined as the quotient of \(\{(x_1,\ldots,x_k)\mid x_i\neq x_j \text{ for } i\neq j\}\) under the natural action of the symmetric group on \(k\) letters. For \(M\) a non compact connected manifold, \textit{G. Segal} proved that the stabilization map \(t: C_k(M)\rightarrow C_{k+1}(M)\) induces an isomorphism \(t_*: H_i(C_k(M))\rightarrow H_i(C_{k+1}(M))\) for \(i\leq k/2\) [Acta Math. 143, 39--72 (1979; Zbl 0427.55006)]. Considering homology with rational coefficients \textit{O. Randal-Williams} proved that for a non compact connected manifold having dimension at least 3, the stabilization map induces an isomorphism \(t_*: H_i(C_k(M); \mathbb{Q})\rightarrow H_i(C_{k+1}(M); \mathbb{Q})\) for \(i\leq k\) [Q. J. Math. 64, No. 1, 303--326 (2013; Zbl 1264.55009)]. In this paper, the authors consider homology with coefficients in \(\mathbb{Z}[1/2]\) and prove that for a non compact connected manifold of dimension at least 3, the stabilization map induces an isomorphism \(t_*: H_i(C_k(M); \mathbb{Z}[1/2])\rightarrow H_i(C_{k+1}(M); \mathbb{Z}[1/2])\) for \(i\leq k\). So the stability range is unchanged if we just invert the prime 2.
