    The paper studies the problem \(\Delta_p u=a(x)f(u)+\mu b(x)|\nabla u|^\alpha \) in \(\mathbb R^N\), \(u\geq 0\) on \(\mathbb R^N\), \(u(x)\to \infty \) as \(|x|\to \infty \). Here \(\alpha \) and \(\mu \) are nonnegative parameters, \(\Delta_p\) is the \(p\)-Laplacian operator with \(1<p<\infty \), \(f:[0,\infty )\to [0,\infty )\) is a continuous function such that \(f(t)>0\) for \(t>0\), and \(a\), \(b\) are continuous functions on \(\mathbb R^N\), \(a\geq 0\). It is studied the existence and the nonexistence of a nonnegative solution of the problem in \(C^1(\mathbb R^N)\).
