The paper is devoted to the investigation of the backward uniqueness of the heat equation in conical domains in two spatial dimensions via Carleman inequality techniques. The structure of the paper is as follows. First, the author gives a number of examples known in the literature. Then, she carries out the decisive parabolic pseudoconvexity analysis. After that, the author checks the desired Carleman estimate and deduces the uniqueness result in two-dimensional conical domains with opening angles larger than \(95^{\circ}\). In the conclusive section of the paper, the author illustrates how the uniqueness of controls can be reduced to an elliptic estimate.
