The monograph displays a general method to prove the continuity of the Lyapunov exponent of linear cocycles. This method can be thought of as the generalization of the work of \textit{M. Goldstein} and \textit{W. Schlag} [Ann. Math. (2) 154, No. 1, 155--203 (2001; Zbl 0990.39014)] who prove the continuity of the Lyapunov exponent for the one-parameter Schrödinger cocycles. Here, the approach works via Grassmann manifolds and Oseledets decomposition from where one constructs an inductive programme. Large deviations, for random cocycles and for quasi-periodic cocycles, are used to measure the deviation of a function from its expected value.
