The authors prove first that a zero-dimensional valuation ring is 1-Gröbner, which involves the major technicality, results and proofs of this work. Second, it is shown that an Archimedean ring is 1-Gröbner, where it is very important previous results from the references [\textit{H. Lombardi} et al., Math. Z. 270, No. 3--4, 1181--1185 (2012; Zbl 1242.13012)] and [\textit{S. Monceur} and \textit{I. Yengui}, J. Algebra 351, No. 1, 382--389 (2012; Zbl 1242.13013)] of the paper. The connection between Archimedean ring and valuation ring it is given from the fact that, in a valuation ring $R$ it is proved that $R$ is 1-Gröbner and $R$ is Archimedean are equivalent. With this sequence of results it is given positive answer to the first conjecture stated in the paper. Later on the authors show that a 1-Gröbner valuation ring is not Noetherian (coherent), which is done by constructing examples of zero-dimensional valuation ring which are 1-Gröbner and it is proved that are not coherent. With this construction it is given negative answer to the second conjecture stated at the beginning of the paper.
